SUMMARY:Fall Workshop with Linda Lucas
DESCRIPTION:Our Fall Workshop will feature beloved watercolor painter and teacher Linda Lucas. \nThis Fall’s Watercolor Workshop will be held at the Kenan Center\, 433 Locust Street\, Lockport\, New York.  \nRegistration Forms for the Workshop are now available. They will also be emailed to all NFWS Members. Click the workshop title\, NFWS FALL 2018 WORKSHOP\, below to view and print the Registration Form. \nNFWS FALL 2018 WORKSHOP \nThe Workshop is limited to 20 participants. Reservations for the Workshop will be accepted by POSTMARKED REPLY ONLY. \nABOUT THE ARTIST: \nLinda Lucas was awarded a scholarship to attend Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated with a Fine Arts degree. She also attended Buffalo State College University of New York  for Fiber Arts & Surface Design. After college she was an artist/ illustrator for the Rochester Board of Education. \nFor over 25 years Linda was part owner and manager of an FTD Florist/ Nursery in Williamsville NY. Linda taught in Florida at Ringling School of Art at Longboat Key\, Keetons of Bradenton and ArtCenter Manatee. She also taught at Chautauqua Institute in Western New York. Her workshops in watercolors\, acrylic inks and silk painting are available year round. \nLinda participates in juried fine art outdoor showsand has received numerous awards including best in show in New York and Florida. Her work is available at Art Loft in Chautauqua and Bemus Point NY\,Stangler Fine Art Gallery in Orchard Park NY and Linda’s Studio in Florida where she resides. She is an active member of various art organizations including FSWS\, FWS and NFWS. \nLinda is inspired by nature and expresses that love through her paintings; celebrating bright colors \, shapes and surfaces that are woven together to create engaging forms in both traditional and impressionistic joyful art. \nLocation: Taylor Theatre Meeting Room – The Kenan Center (Red brick house directly behind Kenan House) \n433 Locust Street \nLockport\, NY 14094 \nTime: 9:30 am- 4 pm \nLunch: 12:15 pm- 1 pm \n(Bring a bagged lunch or order daily through the workshop) \nFee: Members $375.00 Non-Members $410.00 \n* Fee includes one day of silk scarf painting with basic supplies included * \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:October Members Meeting and Demonstration by Linda Lucas
DESCRIPTION:Twice a year\, in October and May\, NFWS partners with the Burchfield Penney Art Center to host a demonstration by the NFWS Workshop Artist. Our Fall Workshop Artist is stunning water media artist renowned for her beautiful floral paintings\, Linda Lucas. Come to the BPAC early\, check our the exhibitions\, and the gallery shop. All are welcome! \nLinda Lucas graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Fine Arts degree & also attended NYS University @ Elmwood for Fiber Arts & Surface Design.\nAfter college she was an artist/ illustrator for Rochester Board of Education & was part owner and manager of an FTD florist for over 25 years. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, October 28th at 2 pm Sally Treanor and Mike Killelea will guide us through the stunning show of transparent watercolors on show at the Kenan Center House Gallery. NFWS Members Jody Ziehm\, Beverly DiPalma\, Marty Kutas\, Doreen Boyer DeBoth\, Janis Stanek and Carol Case Siracuse will share what inspires and motivates them\, and their approaches to the medium of transparent watercolor. \nWe’ve had great success with these artists talks in two previous shows\, and are pleased and excited to be able to offer them again this Fall.
