After a brief Members Meeting catching us up on the Spring’s Events, Exhibition, etc., we will have the pleasure of a demonstration by this spring’s NFWS Workshop Artist, Richard Stephens.

• Richard Stephens has enjoyed a successful 45 year
career as a freelance commercial artist/graphic
designer in the advertising/marketing industry.
• For 20 years Richard has been teaching work-
shops around the country and serving as juror
for numerous watercolor competitions & shows.
• In 2005 “Watercolor Magic Magazine” named
Richard one of the top 10 emerging watercolorist
in the country in their annual “Ones to Watch” issue.

“It is the quest for the excitement, that rush,
understood only by other artists that have been
blessed (or cursed) with the experience, that
gives me reason to continue in the elusive
process of making art. ‘Making Art’ certainly
means producing my own work. But it also
means sharing with my students my knowledge,
experience and passion for watercolor. I love to
teach. I have discovered that through teaching,
more than any other endeavor, I continue to learn.”
