Spring 2017 Members’ Watercolor Exhibition

Heaven Scent by Vicki O'Reilly

Our Spring 2017 Members' Transparent Watercolor Show is stunning! Thank you to everyone who entered. The show is on at the the Carnegie Art Center, 240 Goundry Street, North Tonawanda, NY until June 3, 2017. The Carnegie's hours are Thursday, 6 to 9 pm and Saturday, 12 to 3 pm.

The paintings in the exhibition were selected by our juror, internationally renowned watercolor artist, teacher and juror Carol Carter. She selected 65 paintings by 47 NFWS Members from the 118 paintings which were submitted. Awards were presented at our Awards Reception on Thursday evening, May 25th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.

Our  special event on Saturday, May 20th at 1 pm, an Artists' Talk, hosted by NFWS Exhibition Committee volunteer, and former president, Carol Case Siracuse, was very well-attended. We will do it again!. Several NFWS Member/Artists shared their enthusiasm for the media and gave us some insights into their approaches.

Here are the winners of the awards that were presented on Thursday night, May 25th. Congratulations to all. You will note that there are five "Judge's Choice Awards". This is a first for this award.  Our juror and judge, Carol Carter was so pleased with the quality of the work by our NFWS Members that she pleaded for five more chances to single out the paintings she enjoyed the most. We, of course, were very happy to accomodate.
